
A Little About
Amanda Trout
Amanda Trout is a poet, essayist, and graphic designer who prides herself in finding new and inventive ways to explore various themes within her work.
Trout is a graduate of Pittsburg State University, where she received a Bachelor of Arts in English (Creative Writing) and Spanish in May 2022. While at Pittsburg State, Trout served as the Editor-in-Chief of university lit-mag Cow Creek Review. She was also a member of the inaugural editorial team for Emerald City.
Trout is currently a student in the MFA-Creative Writing and Media Arts program at the University of Missouri-Kansas City, where she studies poetry and serves as a Graduate Teaching Assistant in the composition program.

Trout loves cicadas, black swallowtails, and geraniums. She has owned a number of betta fish, and the current two are names Haruki and Anathema Grace. In her free time, Trout likes to battle in alliance wars on Evertale and watch Pokemon videos on YouTube. Her favorite classic book is The Man Who Was Thursday by G. K. Chesterton, and her favorite poetry collection is Cynthia Hogue's In June, the Labyrinth.
